This handcrafted black lacquerware gourd wine flask is created using traditional Yangzhou lacquerware craftsmanship.
Each piece begins with a naturally grown gourd, carefully selected for shape, thickness, and smooth hand feel. The interior and exterior are coated with authentic Chinese lacquer—raw sap harvested from lacquer trees in the Qinling Mountains (Toxicodendron vernicifluum), known for their premium quality.

Thanks to its natural lacquer coating, the flask provides excellent leak resistance, anti-corrosion durability, and high-temperature tolerance, making it ideal for wine, spirits, tea, hot water, and daily beverages.
Producing a single flask requires 10–15 days, following a rigorous multi-stage lacquer process preserved through generations of Yangzhou artisans.

• Humidity-Controlled Curing (3–5 Days)
  The lacquer cures slowly in a traditional moist curing chamber, ensuring hardness and stability.
• Layered Lacquer Coloring: 6–18 Coats (5–10 Days)
  Several coats of deep black lacquer are added to build the rich, glossy finish that defines premium black lacquerware.
• Final Polishing & Gloss Finish
  The surface is hand-polished using the “Kaiqing” technique for a lustrous, refined sheen.
