Natural Lacquerware Pearl 24K Gold Earrings
Natural Lacquerware Mother-of-Pearl Dangle Earrings
Asymmetric, hand-shaped, and rooted in traditional lacquer craft.
These earrings combine a wooden base with layers of natural China lacquer, shaped and finished entirely by hand. One earring is black, the other white—an intentional contrast that highlights the depth and clarity of lacquerware art. Each piece is decorated using traditional Yangzhou lacquerware methods, giving the surface a soft glow and smooth rounded form.
Craft Process
1. Hand-Applied Lacquer
The base uses a 12 mm wood core. Natural lacquer is brushed on in thin layers, dried, and polished repeatedly. Seven or more layers form the foundation of the final surface.
2. Artistic Layering
Different lacquer colors build flowing patterns. Fine polishing and carving create a three-dimensional visual effect. Gold powder and pigments add richness and warmth to the design.
3. Mother-of-Pearl & Gold Foil Inlay
Once the lacquer is stable, small pieces of mother-of-pearl are set into the pattern. Gold foil is added to highlight curves and reflections.
4. Multi-Stage Polishing
Polished with 200–4000 grit papers, the lacquer becomes clearer, brighter, and smoother with each step.
